SOCCER BUILDS GOOD CHARACTER
Players Paradise Sports Complex was built for the purpose of providing a world class indoor facility to the communities of Southern Ontario. Specifically, it was built to introduce children and adults to the sport of Soccer, the most popular sport in the world. It is an inclusive sport that brings people of all athletic abilities together, it doesn't require a lot of equipment—just a ball, some soccer cleats and the desire to play—and, perhaps most important, it teaches players valuable lessons for their lifetimes.
In other words, soccer builds character. It teaches dedication to goals, sportsmanship, and learning to play well together as a team. These skills are all useful in the world later in life when kids grow up and have relationships with friends, loved ones, colleagues and employers. The sport of soccer not only emphasizes health and fitness, but it also instils confidence, strength and integrity in its players.
GOOD SPORTS MAKE GOOD COMMUNITIES
The sport of soccer is a terrific way for kids, parents and coaches to come together in the spirit of healthy competition and teamwork. But it's more than that. When true sportsmanship is learned and communicated on and off the field, it touches every aspect of the communities in which we live. Children can grow up to be well-rounded problem-solvers who know how to work well with others.
Fresh air. Physical activity. Peer bonding. The positive and healthy benefits of youth sports are well-documented. "Sports are a wonderful vehicle for kids to learn how to deal with adversity, and the sense of learning how to master skills,” says Rick Wolff, chairman of the Center for Sports Parenting and a former professional baseball player and coach.
We know all the important reasons to support youth soccer. And that's why at Players Paradise our focus is to ensure that we make available the best volunteers, administrators, coaches and visionaries so that each child develops their skills to the best of their ability from beginners to elite players; and to partner with premier soccer associations to provide local, national, and international competition.
GOOD SPORTS ARE HEALTHY AND STRONG
Why should you play? Because every day is another opportunity to be the best you can be–at whatever you do. Soccer isn't just a sport. Soccer is the way to be. It's a great way to learn how to stay fit, how to eat nutritious, wholesome foods that provide sustained energy, balance and well being. And, ultimately, it's a way to be strong and stay strong—physically, mentally and emotionally—for the rest of your life.
The lessons we can learn from playing soccer are the lessons we can use for the rest of our lives as valuable, contributing members of our community. Pele, the great Brazilian soccer legend summarized the life lesson he learned from playing soccer: "Success is no accident. It is hard work, perseverance.....and most of all, love of what you do.”
